1762 Stripped – JLT

As such the concept of cafe’s is to have a small and cozy place serving food all day but then when you are in Dubai, everything is big and the best ! This totally applies to 1762 – an awesome cafe with rustic interiors, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, great food and decent service.
We were here one weekend morning and I just loved the buzz. Its a cafe with full of life and not worth missing. With breakfast served all day and with lunch dishes served starting 11 am, we enjoyed selections from both the breakfast and lunch menu.
We tried the fresh bottled juices called the refreshers that had some unique flavours. We had a Black magic lemonade that had lemon juice, organic maple syrup, himalayan salt and activated charcoal; a Zest for life that had guava, crushed lemon, cranberry and passion fruit ; and a Green Extreme Juice that had kale, cucumber, kiwi, celery, ginger and apple. These were simply amazing and very very refreshing.

Breakfast started with a selection of croissants – a Cheese and Chocolate. The croissants were fresh and melted in the mouth.

Then followed the Traditional Eggs Benedict which we chose to have on sourdough bread with spinach. The eggs were done so well and went very well with the bread and the spinach. Next followed the Huevos Rancheros that had corn tortillas, organic fried eggs served with spicy mexican black bean salsa, avocado and mint labneh. I am not a great fan of eggs but with beans, avocado and labneh the fried eggs tasted very good.

We then had a Jalapeno Chicken Wrap from the lunch menu. The spinach wrap was very unique with the chicken filing that had perfect texture and excellent taste.
From the sweets we tried the Millionaires’ Shortbreads that had layers of biscuit, chewy caramel and chocolate. If you love caramel, you will enjoy these. We also had a slice of Red velvet cake which was creamy and tasty.
The show stopper for the day was the Brûlée Brioche with wild berry compote and whipped cream. This was caramelised toast which had a crispy outside and really soft on the inside. A bite of this with the whipped cream would transport you to food haven !
