Everything about this place is simply amazing, from the location to the food and the service. This steakhouse is sure one of my favourites in the city.
With the restaurant overlooking the waters of Madinat Jumeirah and with a gorgeous view of the Burj Al Arab, this place is definitely not worth missing. The great food and service is the icing on the cake.
The service is amazing and we were served by Kim. Kim was extremely friendly and helpful. Kim knew everything about the dished and was proactive to suggest the specials to us.
As much as the outdoor seating gives a gorgeous view, it would be best to book a table in advance and have a table on the deck. The seating on the promenade sometimes can get busy and disbursing with mall visitors walking past and trying to get pictures of the Burj Al Arab.
For the drinks we called for a Mint Lemonade and a Mango, Strawberry and Orange juice. The lemonade was really good and the combination of the mango, strawberry and orange is unique and tasty.
We started the meal with the Chef’s soup of the day. It was a cream of chicken soup. The soup was absolutely fresh and delicious.
Then followed the Rocket, Apple and Walnut Salad. This salad was supremely amazing and it is pleasantly surprising that a steak house does such great salads. The salad had fresh rocket leaves, drizzled balsamic dressing finished with shaving of aged parmesan, sliced able and spiced walnuts.
We then had a Chateaubriand steak and a Wagyu burger in the mains. The chateaubriand is a steak cut from the centre of the beef tenderloin and this grain fed fillet was roasted to perfection. The steak was served with glazed baby potatoes, steamed asparagus and we asked for steamed veggies on the side instead of sauteed mushrooms.
The Wagyu Burger is a 100% pure beef burger, seasoned, basted and flame grilled. The burger was served with greens, fresh onions and tomatoes, pink sauce, chips and onion rings. I couldn’t believe that a flame grilled burger tasted so great and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
We then had the Grilled Giant prawns. These succulent giant gulf prawns are marinated and grilled with garlic, chilli thyme and lemon. The prawns are served with coriander rice, garlic and chive butter. Being such a big sucker for sea food and especially prawns, I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed these.
There is noting better than than ending a great meal with something sweet. In our case, we had a lot of sweet served in a platter. We had the dessert sampler which was served with small portions of marshmallow, lemon cheese cake, apple sorbet, a creme brûlée, strawberry ice cream, apple crumble and a Nutella mousse. These were small desserts with big flavours. Each one of them were amazing that they were finished in no time.
I throughly enjoyed my experience at The Meat Co. and I can endorse them as the best steakhouse in town.
