The only way one can say they have had an authentic meal is when they have visited a country and experienced its cuisine. Anatolia surely serves authentic Turkish food as it transported me to a restaurant in Istanbul.
It is located in Midriff city centre and we visited on a Friday afternoon when the place was really busy. We started the meal with a Karisik Meze, it is a sample tray with all the cold appetizers from Humus to the Abaganus (Grilled eggplant with Garlic and yogurt) and the salad selection served in a traditional copper tray. This was delicious with the hot breads, a sure try if you are in a large group as it is ample for two.
We then had the Icli Kofte, the Turkish Version of kibbe, with a lot of meat. It tasted great too.
From the Hot Appetisers we called for a Lahmacun, it is minced meat pie made with special dough, topped with extra lean ground beef seasoned and mixed. This one was sure the Turkish version of a manakesh. It was really good too, with a generous portion of beef on it.
We absolutely loved our choice for the main course – the Beyti Kebap, it was delicious lamb kabaps wrapped with thin dough and served with grilled tomatoes, peppers, salad vegetables and fries. It was full of flavour and tasted great. I would suggest this for sure.
And the Kunefe with cream was our dessert order. I don’t think I can ever ask for anything else when Kunefe is on the menu. This one sure stole my heart with the cream melting on it.
We ended it with some Turkish tea that was a must have to digest the amazing meal.
Authentic Turkish food, look no further, these folks are reasonable for the quality they serve. The staff are really friendly and helpful as well.
