Memory Lane

A newly opened restaurant in Dubai Marina that gives you a feeling of home with their food and service. It’s a family run business, with people who are extremely passionate about what they are doing and want to provide tasty food at a pocket friendly price.

The interiors are very different with real plants on the wall and some decent seating. You also get a good view into the extremely organised kitchen through the glass separator.

The menu is extensive however this is because all the dishes were personally tried, tested and made a part of the menu by the family. They serve Indian and Chinese food with ease and with no compromise on the quality or taste.

I was here for a tasting session. Upon arrival we were handed a personalised welcome note and a menu for the evening. The menu had options for drinks and soups to choose from and the other dishes were selected delicacies served to us. I chose the Green Juice for the drinks which was a cocktail of kiwi and papaya and was extremely refreshing. We were told they are cold pressed which helps in preserving the taste and nutrients.

I chose the Chicken Wonton soup from the options given. It  tasted great with a couple of chicken wontons in it.

We then moved to the starters. It was indeed an elaborate menu with both Indian and Chinese starters. We were served some Chicken & potato Satay, Prawns Thai Chilli, Babycorn Thai Chilli, Veg Galavti kababs, Stuffed Mushrooms, Paneer Tikka, Mutton Seekh Kabab and Chicken Herbs.

We totally enjoyed everything that was served, it was all prepared fresh and tasted great. My favourites from the starters were the Prawns Thai Chilli, the Chicken Satay and the Chicken Herbs.

For the main course we were served the Malaysian Curry, Chicken Schezwan, Tofu plum chilli Sauce, Burned ginger rice, Steamed Rice and Tepinyaki Noodles. We were almost full with the starters, however the main course was too good to resist. I totally enjoyed the Chicken Schezwan with Burned Ginger rice, Noodles and also the Malaysian curry.

The service is a bit slow and the dishes take a while to get to the table and that is because everything is prepared fresh which you will only realise when you taste the food as it is full of flavour and absolutely fresh.

We ended the meal with the Pineapple Showboat which totally stole the show of the evening. Fruits with ice-cream served in a pineapple crust. It looked great and tasted even better. I am sure gonna go back to try their Paleo menu that offers healthy options.
